Caterpillar Class - Nursery
We are a merged EYFS setting. This means our reception and nursery classes share a learning space. This fosters:
- Smoother Transitions: Starting school can be daunting. In a merged unit, familiar faces and routines ease anxiety, making the shift from nursery to reception seamless and stress-free.
- Natural Learning: Younger children learn through observation and imitation. By interacting with older peers, they'll be exposed to more advanced concepts, accelerating their own development.
- Social & Emotional Growth: Mixed-age groups encourage collaboration, empathy, and leadership skills. Reception children gain confidence supporting younger ones, while younger children develop social skills by interacting with a wider range of peers.
- Richer Learning Environment: Our combined unit offers more resources and space, allowing for diverse activities and play areas that cater to a broader range of needs and interests.
It's important to remember that every child develops at their own pace. Experienced teachers in merged units ensure individual needs are met, providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for all.
